status report
- It is snowing. I have snow boots.
- I have to work tonight. I am a hostess. It is getting less and less bearable by the day but there is no alternative because my other job is only 20 hours a week.
- I might get upgraded to 22 hours a week and this will help me on my journey to eventually become a full-time employee.
- It is nearly impossible for me to become a full-time employee, unless the program starts over-performing and we have too many students and we need to be open more hours a week. It is hard to imagine that we could start over-performing unless we are open more hours a week. We need a chicken for an egg.
- I have spent the past two weeks yelling at various people about how I love my job and how I am good at it and then I had two horrible days in a row and I’m trying very very hard not to forget all the things I know are true.
- “You’re not going to save them. You just try to help.”
- I suspect my entire family thinks I am wasting my life/talents/brain.
- My father told me we need to have a “life talk” soon.
- I have been talking to my parents a lot less as a result. I’m nervous to call my mom because I haven’t been calling her. I think she is not calling me because I haven’t been calling her. Normally I speak to my mother for 30-45 minutes a day.
- If you want to have a life talk, you will have to come to Boston and buy me at least coffee. I will not justify my choices to you over the phone.
- I’m on and off watching Waiting for Superman and should I just become a teacher? And get my MSW later?
- I have several really great friends in Boston. I actually have several groups of really great friends.
- Nick found a bar that serves forties.
- My bedspread and my curtains match.
- I started Yes Means Yes because I think I need to read some feminism every month so I don’t lose my ability to talk about things and also so I don’t stop being mad all the time.
- Let’s just listen to Rilo Kiley and never leave our beds.
